Q1) Introduce
yourself. And give a brief about the company you are placed in and your domain
also.
-> Myself
Jahnavi Sachan and I’m a final year student from the department of Mechanical
Engineering. I’ve got placed in L&T (Larsen & Toubro). It is an Indian
multinational conglomerate which is basically a construction oriented company.
And my domain is Graduate Engineer Trainee.
Q2) Have you
done any internship?
-> Yes, I’ve
done two internships and both in Tata Motors. The first I did in their Lucknow
plant and the second one I did in their Jamshedpur plant.
Q3) What was
your placement procedure?
-> Every core
oriented company has its own procedure. In my case, their procedure was first
they conducted a screening round. It’s an aptitude round and it has three
sections which are verbal ability, numerical ability and core Mechanical
Engineering. Followed by this they conducted an interview round of the
shortlisted candidates. In interview they ask questions from the Resume and the
final year project which a student is be working on and a couple of core
questions.
Q4) What CGPA
according to you would be good to get a decent package?
-> CGPA above
7 with no backlog history would be good.
Q5) What are
the key points a student should highlight in his CV to make it attractive?
-> Resume
should be of one page with no Grammatical errors. It should be easily readable
and well structured. Educational background is obvious to be added including
Highschool, Intermediate, and current Undergraduate details, Internship
experience details (work experience), position of responsibility,
Certifications, most importantly the skills and at last hobby should be
mentioned also these points should be arranged in a chronological order.
Q6) Any
message you want to deliver to your juniors?
-> Yes of
course, a student must have good communication skills and a protection of
themselves from the negative opinions of people is important for students.
