Placement Interview

Nikita Arora (Final B.Tech. PT)

Question - Answers :

Q1)   Ma'am introduce yourself and in which company you are placed in and your domain?

-> Myself Nikita Arora and I’m a final year B.Tech. student from the department of Paint Technology. I got placed in Asian paints. It is an Indian Multinational paint company.

And my domain is R&T (Research and Technology).

Q2) What resources did you use in your preparation for the placement?

-> So basically in the department of Paint Technology you don’t need any external resource for the preparation. The subjects (the core subjects of paint) which are being taught from the starting of 2nd year, those are really important from placement point of view.

If a student wants to get placed in a paint oriented company, he/she needs to have a good command over those subjects.

Q3)  Ma'am have you done any internship?

-> Yes, I have done two internships-

The first internship which I did was after the end of my 2nd year in DMSRDE (Defence Material and Stores Research and Development Establishment), DRDO.

And my second internship which I did  was after the end of my 3rd year. And that was mandatory. I did that internship in Tata Motors in their Lucknow plant.

Q4)  According to you, what are the points which should be highlighted in a good CV to make it attractive?

-> Your CV should include your Educational background that is must of course. But the co-curricular activities which you have taken part in, should be highlighted because that reflects your overall personality development over the time. This is a general point to be included.

But the outlook of a CV changes with every domain and company. For instance, if you are preparing your CV for   a particular domain then you have to highlight some specific points like you have a good command on Excel if you are preparing your CV for the domain of an analyst.

And similar to that, the outlook of your CV changes with the company you are targeting.

Q5)  Ma'am what CGPA according to you a student must maintain to get a good placement?

-> So, I would say that the CGPA above 7 is considered as good to get a decent package in a decent Company. Also, it is suggested for a student not to have any active or dead backlogs because most of the Companies do not prefer the student having any of the backlogs.

Q6)  In what co-curricular activities you were involved in?

-> In my early college days, I was part of ASCPC and E-cell and that gave me a wide exposure. Apart from these, I was very active in Gruv and sports(volleyball) as well. Because through these clubs I interacted with new people and that boosted my confidence which helps you tackle the new coming questions in interviews and Group Discussions as well.

Q7)  What was your placement procedure? Please elaborate.

-> So, firstly they conducted an online assessment which includes Mathematical Reasoning and other similar kinds of tests. Followed by this they conducted a Group Discussion . After that, a Technical interview related to the core Paint was held and in the last HR interview was conducted.
